Letter From Pastor
2022 will be remembered as a milestone year for Maple City Chapel. We moved ahead in the One Campaign; an initiative to make room in our lives and in our building for people in our community who don’t know Jesus. It was so inspiring to watch as you all committed your time and resources to further the Kingdom of God. In March, we began an 8 month period of meeting in our Commons Area while our auditorium went under construction. It has been so meaningful to see our newly renovated space fill as you bring your neighbors, friends, and coworkers, many who have never heard the good news of Jesus. We are so grateful for all that God has already done and will do as a result of your sacrificial generosity!
Our annual Launch Sunday is about giving thanks to God for the past year while also looking forward to what could be in store for the year ahead. One of my yearly traditions is to spend time in prayer, asking the Lord to reveal a specific word or phrase for the upcoming year for my own personal walk and for our church as a whole. This year, I felt the Lord give us the word “engage.” I would love you all to wrestle with the following question with me: In what areas of my spiritual life does God want me to engage in a deeper level of involvement, commitment, or service? What would it look like for each person to take one step toward deeper engagement in 2023? I can’t wait to see what God does in and through you in the upcoming year!

Ministries at Work
Our ministries are growing and busting at the seams. Our kids and students ministries especially have reached peak numbers.
Our kids department is busting at the seams! 2023 has brought us to an average of 100 kids per service, and we have new babies in our nursery every month. We LOVE seeing this generation growing and becoming like Christ, especially as we watch the volunteers in generations above them serving them with the gentleness of Christ.
We believe this is not just babysitting - it's spiritual development. At Maple City Chapel, we focus on raising up a next generation who loves Jesus and will change the world for the Kingdom. We are all in at Maple City Kids. Our Next Gen ministry partners will families for their entire discipleship journey and we have a huge volunteer community investing in your kids throughout their lifetime.
Our students truly set an example of faith for us in the way the love and chase after God. Like our Kids Department, our students have also reached peak attendance with over 100 kids every Wednesday. They inspire us with the way they humbly serve others in our church and around the world through their different missions project. Check out what they're up to on Instagram @maplecitystudents.
We know the 7th to 12th grade years can be challenging and we want to be a place where students feel completely welcomed and supported. A place where they love to come and are encouraged to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
We are ecstatic about the continued growth of our groups and are offering more options than ever. One of our favorite things from 2022 was our summer groups! We loved seeing our church taking the opportunity to connect with each other informally in interest-based groups. We also saw our families invest in each other in Legacy Groups like Financial Peace, Parenting Class, and more. Our community rallied around one another in the hurts of life through GriefShare, DivorceCare, and Journey with Us. Our Young Adults, Women's, Men's, and North of 60 groups gave individuals a place to connect with their peers. And, of course, our Life Groups continued to be a primary place where connections are built and we learn how to live life together with our faith communities.
God created us to live in relationship with others. It's how grow, learn, are challenged, and encouraged. Since our beginning as a church, our adult ministry groups have been a vital part of our DNA to foster connection, spiritual growth, and belonging. Groups are where you meet the people you'll grow with in each season of your life. There is a group for you!
2022-2023 brought massive changes for our Creative Arts Department. We went from our old auditorium to a temporary meeting space in the Lobby to a brand new, beautiful auditorium with space for our community. That means our volunteers stepped up and stretched themselves in huge ways as they learned and grew. We also reached the first page of Google Search for churches in our area and have spend almost $53,000 of Google's money to lead almost 8,000 people to our website to find hope in Jesus. Our top search results were for biblical and encouraging sermons, Father's Day, and Summer kids activities like VBS.
We desire to lead people into God’s presence during times of worship and celebration, with passion and excellence, enabling them to connect with Him in life-changing ways. God designed and created us. He breathed His image into us and we carry it in what we do. When we create, we are creating an expression of His image in us and minister to His heart as well as others.
Our church community continues to amaze us with their generosity. This year we continued to serve locally through the Mobile Food Bank, our Pit Road Auto Ministry, RETA, and many more. We also continue to serve and support many missionaries around the world including Peru, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and more.
Maple City Chapel supports multiple missionaries around the world. We love seeing the great work they're doing multiplying the Good News of Jesus everywhere. Your gift can make a giant difference.

Our elder team is composed of lay leaders who have stepped up and volunteered to cast vision and oversee the direction of the church. Our elder couples each serve for a four year term.
